TDK Corporation has launched a powerful simulation tool - CLARA (Capacitor Life and Rating Calculation Application), which can be used for rating calculation and product selection of thin film capacitors installed on PCB circuit boards of EPCOS and TDK. This tool provides a universal parameter retrieval function, which includes retrieving capacitance, voltage range, rated voltage, RMS and peak current, temperature, maximum size and volume, certification, reference standards, and typical applications.

Just enter the application conditions and click once to simulate the performance of up to four capacitors. It can not only visually display various parameters such as working temperature, DC voltage, AC voltage, peak current, and expected service life in a table, but also list safety margins, making it convenient for designers to adjust settings according to specific requirements. If the allowable capacitor parameters are exceeded, a warning will also be issued.

Users can also store application conditions, including personal notes, for future use. For most capacitors, this tool can provide STEP files and SPICE simulation data.
